My Take
Ricardo Montaner earns my full respect for sheer staying power. Argentine-born and raised in Maracaibo, Venezuela, he has been singing since the late 1970s, releasing more than 24 albums and selling an estimated 10 million records worldwide. His 2016 Latin Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award and later wins confirm a legacy few balladeers match. What strikes me is that nearly half a century in, he remains creatively engaged, and his children have followed him into music. Sustaining that kind of relevance across generations is rare, and I applaud him as a genuine pillar of Latin music.
