My Take
What gets me about Rich Franklin is the arc: a math teacher with a Cincinnati degree who walked away from the chalkboard and became UFC Middleweight Champion and a Hall of Famer. That is not a reckless gamble, it reads like a calculated bet by someone who actually understood risk. I have always admired fighters who think, and Franklin always struck me as the cerebral kind. His pivot into the front office at ONE Championship feels equally deliberate, the educator returning to mentorship in a new form. A genuinely respectable, well-engineered life.
