My Take
Richard Speight Jr. is the kind of versatile craftsman I always root for. Best known to me as Supernatural's Trickster-turned-archangel Gabriel, he brought a sly, mischievous energy that few actors can pull off without overdoing it. But what I admire most is his range behind the camera too, writing and directing alongside acting. A USC-trained Nashville native who appeared in Band of Brothers, he's clearly built a durable, multifaceted career. I respect performers who can both inhabit a role and shape a story, and Speight quietly does both with real skill.
