Rick Cosnett

Rick Cosnett's path is the part that fascinates me: born in Chegutu, Zimbabwe, schooled at Queensland University of Technology, then landing recurring roles in The Vampire Diaries, Quantico, and The Flash. That is a long way to travel, literally and professionally. The supporting roles he's known for are deceptively hard work, the kind that tighten a story without ever stealing it. I have a soft spot for outsider actors who grind their way in from the margins of the map, and Cosnett reads to me as exactly that sort of patient, well-traveled craftsman.
