Robert Pittman

Robert Pittman fascinates me as the rare executive who actually invented a culture rather than just monetizing one. Leading the team that built MTV reshaped how a whole generation experienced music, turning songs into something you watched. That he later ran iHeartMedia and co-founded Casa Dragones tequila tells me his instinct for what people want to consume runs deep and crosses industries. Born in Mississippi in 1953, he has stayed largely behind the scenes, and I find that restraint admirable. He is a builder and a pattern-spotter, and those are the operators I trust most.
