Robin Trower

Robin Trower is a name that lights me up as a guitar nerd. After making his name with Procol Harum, he planted himself behind his own power trio and never looked back. That liquid, swelling tone owes a clear debt to Hendrix, yet he bent it into something unmistakably his own. He never chased trends; he simply kept refining the sound of a guitar for decade after decade. Born in 1945 and still active, he embodies a kind of stubborn artistic integrity I deeply respect. Depth over flash, every time. To me, that is what a real guitarist looks like.
