My Take

Ryan Guzman is one of those rare guys who actually made the jump from dancer to legit actor stick, and I have a lot of respect for that. He broke out in Step Up Revolution and Step Up: All In, and honestly he had the charisma to carry those films beyond just the choreography. Then he went darker with The Boy Next Door alongside Jennifer Lopez, which was a real swing. But the role that truly cemented him for me is Eddie Diaz on 9-1-1 — he brought so much heart and physical commitment to that firefighter character that it became a fan favorite arc for years running. Born in Abilene, Texas and built like a guy who never skipped a day of training in his life, Guzman keeps proving that talent plus work ethic is a formula that holds up.
