My Take

Sara Forestier fascinates me because she refused to be filed away as a one-hit prodigy. Winning the César for Best Female Revelation in 2005 could have defined her, but taking Best Actress in 2011 and later being named Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres proved she had real staying power. What I respect most is her restlessness, she is not only an actor but a director, screenwriter and voice artist, someone determined to author stories rather than merely inhabit them. A Copenhagen-born talent thriving at the summit of French cinema is its own kind of statement. I would happily follow wherever her curiosity takes her next.
