Sarah Àlainn

Honestly, the moment you see her resume — singer, composer, lyricist, violinist, and translator — you kind of have to just sit back and laugh a little, because what is that? Most people spend a whole career trying to get good at one thing, and Sarah Àlainn just collected skills like she had extra time the rest of us don't. She graduated from the University of Sydney, which already tells you there's serious intellectual horsepower under the hood, but then you hear that voice — clear, high, almost impossibly pure — and the academic side almost catches you off guard. The combination of learned rigor and natural transparency in her sound is what makes her interesting to me; she doesn't feel like she's performing competence, she just has it. Multi-talented people can sometimes feel spread thin, like they're dabbling everywhere without landing anywhere, but everything I've heard from her carries real commitment. That tracks.
