Sarah Jarosz

Sarah Jarosz, born in Austin and raised in Wimberley, Texas, is precisely the kind of artist I want to champion. There is something grounding about her mandolin-driven Americana, music with dirt under its fingernails that refuses to chase trends. Earning a Grammy nomination so early in her career proves she was the real thing from the start. She sings, she plays, she writes, doing it all by her own hand, and that self-contained craftsmanship moves me. I will gladly keep her on repeat.
