Satoshi Fujii

Half the people searching this name are probably after the shogi prodigy Sota Fujii. This is someone else: born 1968 in Ikoma, Nara, a civil engineering professor at Kyoto University who drifted into economics, advised the Abe cabinet before stepping down of his own accord, and edits the journal Hyogensha Criterion. What interests me is the transfer, a mind trained on bridges and roads arguing about how a country spends. People disagree with him loudly, and I still think academics who leave the lab are worth having.
