Shane Black is one of my favorite craftsmen of mainstream Hollywood entertainment. Originating the Lethal Weapon franchise would be a career's worth of impact on its own, but his fingerprint goes deeper than that. From The Last Boy Scout to The Long Kiss Goodnight, his dialogue crackles. That he also directs and acts only underscores his versatility.
