My Take
Sheldon Riley wins my respect for the courage of his self-presentation. Rising from The X Factor Australia to represent his country at Eurovision 2022 with "Not the Same," he turned vulnerability into spectacle, all crystal masks and soaring vocals. I'm genuinely moved by artists who refuse to shrink themselves to fit in, and his whole persona is a declaration of that. There's a Piscean depth of feeling in his voice that lands hard. To me he represents a younger generation building their own stage on their own terms, and I find myself wanting to see how far he climbs.
