Shigeyuki Furuki

So Shigeyuki Furuki is a ballplayer out of Kashiwa in Chiba, and honestly, the first thing I think is that Chiba just keeps cranking out baseball guys like it's a factory. At 174cm he's not exactly towering for the sport, and I'll be real, I have a soft spot for the smaller guys who survive on craft and stubbornness rather than raw size. Sixteen seasons across Nippon-Ham and the Giants, and now a coaching job, say plenty. But picturing a guy quietly chasing fly balls on a Chiba diamond? That alone earns my respect.
