My Take
Shirley Ballas earned the nickname "Queen of Latin" the hard way, stacking up International Latin championship titles before most viewers ever heard her name. What I respect is the rare completeness of her arc: a champion competitor who became a teacher and then head judge on Strictly Come Dancing without losing authority or warmth. Plenty of experts soften into celebrity; she stayed exacting. Her dual identity as teacher and dancer tells you everything about how seriously she treats the craft. I find her a compelling reminder that real credibility on a judging panel comes from having truly mastered the floor first.
