Siddharth Roy Kapur

Siddharth Roy Kapur fascinates me precisely because he never needed to be on screen to shape Indian cinema. Running Disney's India arm and serving six terms as head of the Producers Guild is a quietly staggering resume; this is the person who makes other people's films possible. I have a soft spot for these architects of an industry, the figures whose names roll past in the credits while their fingerprints are on everything. Founding Roy Kapur Films suggests an instinct to build rather than merely manage. He strikes me as a steady, structural force, the kind of producer a whole ecosystem leans on without quite realizing it.
