My Take

Sienna Miller spent years being photographed more than she was actually watched, and I think that cost her. The boho-chic icon of mid-2000s London was so culturally loud that her real craft — visible as early as Layer Cake and Alfie — got drowned out. What interests me is the second act: the unglamorous, lived-in performances she has delivered since, where the model's poise gives way to something rawer and more precise. Starting out in Italian Vogue and the Pirelli Calendar gave her a career; surviving the tabloid era gave her texture. She is a better actress now than her fame ever suggested, and I find that late-blooming arc genuinely compelling.
