My Take

Slim Thug is, in my view, a cornerstone of Houston hip-hop. That guest verse on Mike Jones' Still Tippin' alongside Paul Wall is one of those instantly recognizable Southern moments, and his deep, unhurried Texas flow has a swagger you simply cannot fake. What I admire most is that he never stopped at rapping. Building businesses and reinvesting in his city reflects a sharp, grounded mind. Longevity in this game is rare, and the fact that he is still standing tells me he is as savvy in commerce as he is on the mic.
