Sophia Flörsch

Sophia Flörsch earns my admiration less for raw speed than for sheer resilience. To compete as a woman in motorsport's overwhelmingly male arena takes nerve; to climb back behind the wheel after a horrifying crash and win a comeback award takes something rarer. Someone who has felt that danger firsthand and still presses the accelerator possesses a mind most of us cannot fathom. What moves me is not her lap times but her refusal to break, and the example she sets for the next generation of girls who will look at her and decide they belong on the grid too.
