Sun Zheng

There is something cinematic about Sun Zheng's title moment. He clinched the national class of the British Formula Three Championship when his chief rival Ed Jones opted out of the final round at the Nurburgring. Championships are won as much by circumstance as by speed, and I appreciate a driver who was there to seize the opening. As a Chinese racer making his mark on European circuits, he was up against entrenched competition, and I respect anyone who keeps grinding through that. Focused and ultimately a winner, he also took the 2012 China Formula Grand Prix title.
