Svetlana Khodchenkova

Svetlana Khodchenkova strikes me as one of those performers who commands a frame the instant she appears. Standing 180 cm with a model's presence, she has moved fluidly between Russian stage, film, and international productions, earning the Honored Artist of Russia title along the way. What interests me most is her step into directing, a sign of an artist who wants control over the whole canvas rather than just her own role. I have a soft spot for actors with that kind of restless creative ambition, and her range makes her far more than a striking face on screen.
