My Take
Siluanov fascinates me less for any single decision than for sheer endurance. Holding the Russian finance ministry since 2011 means surviving political storms that swallowed far flashier figures. An economist turned politician carries a thankless burden, weighing cold numbers against a nation's stamina, and it is a fundamentally lonely job. The wall of medals and honors reads to me like proof of a hand kept steady on the tiller through turbulence. I am drawn to the technocrat archetype, the unglamorous figure who keeps the machinery running while others chase the spotlight. There is quiet respect owed to that.
