Takamasa Ōki

Scorpios are the ones who grind in silence, who never let you see them sweat, who show up for the unglamorous reps nobody tweets about. That's the backbone of pro baseball — not just the cleanup hitters on the highlight reel, but the guys who suit up, compete for roster spots, and keep pushing year after year. He went from an independent-league club to the Chiba Lotte Marines and is now studying to become a teacher, and I find myself rooting for him anyway, the way you root for anyone who chose a hard sport and stuck with it.
