Tanishk Bagchi

Bagchi occupies a tricky, fascinating niche: the modern Bollywood recreator. With a University of Calcutta background and a multi-hat skill set spanning production, composition, singing, and lyrics, he is best known for reworking classics like Dilbar and Aankh Maarey for new audiences. Purists often resent the remix culture he embodies, but I see real craft in making a beloved old melody land with a generation that never heard the original. It demands respect for the source and nerve to change it. Whatever the debates, he clearly has the ear to bridge eras, and his Bengali sensibility quietly colors the work.
