Tasha Cobbs

What draws me to Tasha Cobbs is that her gift reads less like vocal showmanship and more like conviction made audible. "Break Every Chain" became a hit not because of chart strategy but because it meets people in their lowest moments and refuses to leave them there. Coming out of Jesup, Georgia, where she first led worship at her father's church, she carries a rootedness that I find rare in modern gospel. The Billboard numbers matter, but to me the truer measure is how often her songs are sung in actual rooms full of hurting people. I respect artists who serve before they perform, and she clearly does.
