My Take
Splitter was never the player who filled highlight reels, and that is exactly why I respected him. At 211 cm he could have leaned on size alone, but his game in San Antonio was about timing, screens and quiet intelligence rather than spectacle. That basketball IQ makes his move into coaching, now leading the Chicago Bulls, feel completely earned. I find players who win with their minds far more compelling than pure athletes, and Splitter's arc from Joinville, in Brazil's south, to an NBA bench reads like a craftsman's story.
