Tom Cullen

Tom Cullen is the kind of actor I instinctively trust. Welsh, classically trained at the Royal Welsh College, he broke through in the intimate indie Weekend before lending real elegance to Downton Abbey and shouldering period drama in Knightfall and Becoming Elizabeth. What I admire is his refusal to chase flash; he builds characters quietly, letting nuance accumulate until it lands. That he also directs suggests a restless, genuine love of storytelling rather than mere celebrity. I find his career a satisfying reminder that craft and patience still carve out a lasting place in this industry.
