My Take
What strikes me most about Tom Lehman is not the 1996 Open Championship or the brief stint at world number one, but the rare distinction of being named Player of the Year on all three PGA Tours, from the developmental Ben Hogan Tour to the senior Champions circuit. That kind of sustained excellence across every stage of a career speaks to character more than raw talent. Coming from Austin, Minnesota, and grinding his way to the top, Lehman embodies a quiet, durable professionalism that I find genuinely admirable in an era that prizes flash over consistency.
