My Take
Walt "Clyde" Frazier is, to me, the definition of cool under pressure. As the floor general and lockdown defender for the Knicks, he delivered the franchise's first two championships, in 1970 and 1973, and that stack of All-Defensive honors tells the whole story of how he won. What I love is that he wasn't just numbers; the nickname, the style, the swagger made him an icon beyond the box score. Hall of Fame in 1987 sealed it. I think his second life as a broadcaster, with that unmistakable flair for language, kept him relevant to fans who never even saw him play. A true New York original.
