Haruka Morita-WanyaoLu

Haruka Morita-WanyaoLu is one of those athletes who carries two identities with total ease — Chinese by nationality, raised in Japan, competing internationally under both names depending on which tour or country she's playing in. That dual-name life (Lu Wanyao / Haruka Morita) says a lot about who she is: someone who doesn't fit neatly into one box, and honestly that's kind of cool. Born in 1996, she's part of a generation of Asian women who've made the professional golf circuit feel genuinely global. Her parents are former table tennis players who came to Japan to coach, and she won the Japan Women's Amateur in 2013; whenever I see a player quietly building her game without a huge media machine behind her, I root for her. The grind is real, and she's clearly putting in the work.
