Wataru Komada

Okay, so the first thing anyone says about Wataru Komada is that voice, and honestly they're right. The man's got this deep, chest-rattling bass that lands somewhere between "trustworthy narrator" and "guy who could read a phone book and make it sound dramatic." What gets me is the mismatch: he was born in 1989 in Kanagawa, basically my generation, yet that low rumble makes you picture some weathered older gentleman who's seen things. I love that. And from what I can tell he's actually pretty easygoing off-mic, chatty with fans, which is the best kind of surprise when someone sounds that imposing. Voice acting is a faceless gig a lot of the time, but his timbre is practically its own character. I just find that bass weirdly comforting, like a warm anchor in whatever he's voicing.
