Wendee Lee

Wendee Lee is the kind of name anime fans say with real reverence, and I get why. She's a voice actress, writer, and director whose credits run so deep that she's quietly shaped the English dubs I grew up watching. What I appreciate most is that she didn't just lend her voice; she stepped behind the mic as an ADR director too, helping shape how whole casts sounded. That dual role, performer and craftsperson, is rarer than people realize. She studied dance and theater and was a full-time dancer in her teens before voice work took over, which may explain her ear for rhythm. To me she's foundational, even if her name rarely gets top billing.
