William Houston

What draws me to William Houston is the weight of his stage work. Born in Sussex in 1968 and raised in Northern Ireland, he trained at the Central School of Speech and Drama and has played Troilus, Prince Hal, Henry V, Sejanus and Coriolanus for the Royal Shakespeare Company, earning an Evening Standard nomination for Henry V, before leading Fortune's Fool at the Old Vic and Titus Andronicus at the Globe in 2014. I have a soft spot for actors who let the work speak rather than the press release. In an era obsessed with visibility, an actor content to simply be good, quietly and repeatedly, earns my respect more than most loud careers ever could.
