Wise

WISE is the kind of artist I gravitate toward without being able to fully explain why — a rapper out of Nagoya who can actually sing, and I mean really sing, not just croon a hook to fill space. Born in 1979, he came up during the era when Japanese hip-hop was quietly becoming its own thing, and there's something quietly earned about an artist who was in the room while that whole transformation happened. Nagoya doesn't get the cultural spotlight that Tokyo does, so there's an underdog texture there I find genuinely interesting. I don't know every detail of his discography, but the fact that he stuck with a lane that blends melody and bars — that takes real musical conviction, not just technical range.
