Yul Kwon

Yul Kwon fascinates me because of the sheer range of his life. A Stanford-trained lawyer who won Survivor: Cook Islands in 2006, then went on to serve as a government official and management consultant, he is the rare reality-TV winner who clearly competes on intellect. Outlasting and reading people in an extreme survival game demands both brains and nerve, and he had both. Too often we dismiss reality champions as flukes, but Kwon kept conquering each chapter of his life on his own merits. I am drawn to people who are genuinely, seriously smart, and he fits that description completely.
