My Take

What I find compelling about Zach Johnson is that he won majors on touch and discipline rather than raw power. Taking the 2007 Masters and the 2015 Open Championship as a player who isn't a long hitter tells me a lot about course management and nerve. The Iowa City roots and Drake University background give him a grounded, Midwestern feel that I think suits the way he plays. Captaining the 2023 U.S. Ryder Cup side in Rome was a tougher chapter, but I respect that he stepped into that pressure. To me he's proof that golf rewards precision and patience as much as athleticism.
