Zhao Lusi

Zhao Lusi is one of those rare actors who can carry an entire drama on pure charm alone, and I mean that as the highest compliment. Born in 1998 in Sichuan, she broke through with The Romance of Tiger and Rose in 2020 — a time-travel rom-com that should have been forgettable fluff but became a genuine phenomenon largely because of how effortlessly funny and magnetic she was in it. What sets her apart is range: she went from bubbly comedic leads to the quietly devastating emotional restraint she showed in Hidden Love in 2023, and both felt completely natural. Love Like the Galaxy proved she could anchor a big-budget period epic without getting swallowed by the production design. In her mid-twenties she already has a filmography most actors would envy at 40, and I get the sense she's only just warming up.
