My Take

Aarón Ñíguez is the journeyman I instinctively respect. A Valencia academy graduate capped by Spain at youth level, he never quite became a household name, yet he kept playing, in Greece, Scotland, Portugal, Malaysia and across the Segunda División. At 170 centimetres he relied on craft over physique, and that resilience appeals to me more than any glittering trophy haul would. There is real honour in proving you can earn a living with a ball anywhere on earth. He plays in the shadows of the game, far from the cameras, and I think that quiet persistence deserves a genuine round of applause.
