My Take
Action Bronson is one of my favorite kinds of artist: the person who refuses to be one thing. A trained chef turned rapper turned television host out of Flushing, he treats food and music as the same expressive act, and his appetite for life is contagious on screen. Born Ariyan Arslani, he carries his roots openly, and that authenticity gives his bombastic style real warmth. I love that he came up independently before any major deal; it tells you the man followed his own taste first. He is gloriously hard to categorize, and that is exactly why he matters.
