My Take
Alain Chabat is one of those rare comedians who treats silliness with total craftsmanship, and that combination always wins me over. Born in Oran, Algeria, he rose through the legendary troupe Les Nuls before directing and starring in Mission Cleopatra, where the gags and the grandeur somehow coexist. Then he built Burger Quiz into the most-watched entertainment show in French history, which is frankly staggering. Actor, director, writer, producer, voice actor: he wears every hat and still feels effortless. Even through subtitles his comic intelligence shines. I have enormous respect for people who make laughter look easy while working ferociously hard.
