Anders Thomas Jensen

Anders Thomas Jensen is a name that makes me smile, because his work sits in a space where dark comedy and human cruelty share the same frame. Winning an Academy Award for a short film tells me he can land an emotional punch in very little time, and the European Film Award for Best Comedy confirms his instinct for laughter with bite. I admire writers who make us laugh while quietly exposing our flaws. He is the sort of behind-the-camera craftsman whose influence outlasts the spotlight, and he deserves more recognition.
