Andreas Kisser

Andreas Kisser earns my respect on the strength of one thing alone: he shaped the sound of Sepultura. As lead guitarist since their second album Schizophrenia, he helped fuse thrash metal with Brazilian tribal rhythms into something genuinely original. His restless work in projects like Hail! and De La Tierra shows a musician who never coasts. What I love about Brazilian metal is how it pairs crushing heaviness with a certain sun-soaked vitality, and Kisser embodies that. He is a craftsman who lit a fire under metal kids worldwide, and that is no small legacy.
