Atsuhiko Nakata

Atsuhiko Nakata is a case study in refusing to sit still. Born in Takatsuki, Osaka in 1982 and educated at Keio University, he broke through as a comedian, then landed a genuine hit as a singer, then rebuilt himself as a YouTuber running what amounts to a one-man lecture channel, and then again as a businessman. Most entertainers who find a formula that works will ride it for thirty years. He seems almost allergic to that. The cost is obvious: he is one of the most argued-about figures in Japanese entertainment, and I don't always agree with the certainty in his delivery. But people who keep talking in their own words, knowing the criticism is coming, are rarer than they look. What holds my interest is that he still seems to be auditioning for his next act.
