Aurelio De Laurentiis

Aurelio De Laurentiis fascinates me because he refuses to stay in one lane. A film producer who also owns and chairs Napoli, he treats cinema and football as two sides of the same theatrical instinct. I see a man who pours money and ego into whatever obsesses him, which makes him both exasperating and oddly endearing to follow. The state honors are nice, but they are not what I remember him for. What lingers is the image of an unapologetic operator who built two empires of spectacle on pure conviction. Love him or not, he is never boring.
