Ayumi Ogasawara

I'll be honest, curling sneaks up on you, and Ayumi Ogasawara is exactly why. She came up out of Kitami in Hokkaido and went to three Winter Olympics. There's something I genuinely love about a sport that looks this calm and is secretly a grind of millimeter-perfect weight control, nerve, and reading ice like a chessboard. At 155cm she's not towering over anyone, but the composure is the whole point. And the part that gets me is the pivot to coaching, quietly passing the craft down instead of chasing the spotlight. That's the kind of steady, unflashy excellence I end up rooting for the hardest, honestly.
