My Take
Barbara Bain earns my deep respect. Winning three consecutive Emmys for Mission: Impossible is not luck, it is sustained mastery, and she did it playing a role built on poise and intelligence rather than melodrama. I find her career arc admirable: from Chicago and Illinois training to network stardom, then a pivot into science fiction with Space: 1999, and finally a Walk of Fame star late in life. She represents a kind of actress who commands a scene through restraint and bearing, and that quiet authority has aged far better than flashier contemporaries.
