My Take
For me, Big Boi is the half of Outkast that doesn't always get his full due, and that's a shame. While Andre 3000 chased the spotlight with his eccentricity, Big Boi was the rapper's rapper, the one anchoring the groove with technical precision and Southern swagger. I think their run of six acclaimed albums reshaped what hip-hop from the South could be, and he was central to that. There's something I respect about an artist from Savannah by way of Atlanta who keeps producing and writing rather than coasting. He feels like a craftsman who genuinely loves the work.
