My Take
Brahman Shu — the name alone stopped me cold. You take a word loaded with ancient Indian caste history and slap it on a pro wrestler from Hodogaya, and suddenly that's just his name, no explanation needed. That's a particular kind of confidence. Hodogaya is one of those corners of Yokohama that doesn't pretend to be the glamorous harbor-view postcard version of the city, and honestly that fits a pro wrestler a lot better than some fancy waterfront address would. Born in 1977, he's the kind of guy who's been in this game long enough that the wear and the craft are inseparable. Pro wrestling rewards that — longevity is almost a credential in itself. The white robes and crystal-ball shtick he shares with his twin brother just add to it. Some wrestlers need the spotlight off the mat; Brahman Shu seems perfectly comfortable letting the ring name do all the talking.
