My Take
Brian Greene is, to me, the gold standard of the scientist-communicator. Plenty of physicists understand string theory; almost none can make it feel like an adventure the way he does. A Stuyvesant kid turned Oxford Rhodes Scholar turned Columbia professor, he also co-founded the World Science Festival, which tells you he genuinely wants the public inside the conversation, not just spectating. What I value most is his refusal to dumb things down dishonestly. He keeps the wonder and the rigor together. Co-discovering mirror symmetry would be a career; making millions care about it is the rarer feat.
