Bull Nakano

Bull Nakano represents, for me, the fearless golden age of Japanese women's wrestling. A teenager from Kawaguchi who threw herself into AJW and became an unforgettable villain alongside her mentor Dump Matsumoto, she commanded a menace and presence few performers ever achieve. Her induction into the Wrestling Observer Hall of Fame confirms what fans already knew. What strikes me most is her second act as a professional golfer, proof of relentless drive. Playing the heel so convincingly takes a strange kind of love for the audience, and that total commitment is exactly why I respect her so much.
